Brand new online finance TV channel from Interactive Investor
A brand new online finance TV channel aimed at private investors was launched at a star studded bash at the Ivy in London last night. Guests included actress Cherie Lunghi, Sky News presenter Dermot Murnaghan and ex-Radio 1 DJ Bruno Brookes. The new service, iiTV (www.iii.co.uk/tv), is created by the UK’s leading investment website Interactive Investor and comes from the group which also publishes leading personal finance magazines Moneywise and Money Observer. The new channel is being launched in response to increased online demand for financial news, information and entertainment and to help viewers navigate the extensive archive of video content on the site.
Interactive Investor currently generates over 100,000 unique views per month for its videos, all of which are produced in-house using professional presenters and with the occasional star guest thrown in. A special ‘Top of the Stocks’ programme with ex Radio 1 DJ Mike Read, looks at the top ten most traded shares in 2010 and was previewed at the official launch event at the Ivy in London on 29 September 2010.
iiTV will be available via a brand new App compatible with the iPhone and iPad. The App is free to download via Apple’s store. The new channel will bring together content from iBall, which takes an irreverent look at the performance of listed companies, as well as Moneywise TV and Money Observer TV, which feature a wide range of ‘ how to’ guides focusing on all aspects of personal finance from opening an ISA to choosing the best investment for income.
Tomas Carruthers, Chief Executive, Interactive Investor said: “Video content is an important part of our service, valued by increasing numbers of our customers. We recognise that internet TV offers huge potential and we want to continue to be at the forefront of development. This is also a fantastic opportunity for advertisers who want to target a finance savvy audience, especially with the new App, which will reach more private investors than ever before.”
Steve McDowell, Editor in Chief, Interactive Investor, said: “iiTV is an exciting new service for investors, the increasing variety of our content and the new expert based streams, Take 2 and iLight mean that we now offer financial television that covers all sectors of the market. If you want to know how to trade a CFD or simply want to know how to choose a credit card there will be something on iiTV for you.”
