A new adviser for the new financial world
Personal finance website Interactive Investor has launched a new financial advice service, interactive financial adviser (www.ifa.net), in partnership with Cambridgeshire based IFA firm Lee Associates. The service uses the internet to make a range of educational information and video content available to site visitors and encourages users to seek advice for complex financial issues where they may not feel confident, or have the time to commit to make a decision on their own.
The service shares the values of parent company Interactive Investor, which delivers a range of services to self directed investors and acknowledges that many people are comfortable making financial decisions in an execution only manner, if they have the right information available. Yet there are issues such as protection, pension and IHT planning where the choices are complex. In these cases having access to an efficient and professional advice service, online and over the phone, is in the best interest of the consumer.
The service is transparent and will initially be promoted to the 1.2 million unique users Interactive Investor generates each month and the 150,000 unique users of Moneywise.co.uk.
Julian Martin-Redman, Co founder of Lee Associates, stated: “Quality of service is the key to our proposition. I understand that in many cases we are dealing with confident financial consumers and they expect a personal and a value for money service. They will also value the fact that the service charges are transparent and straightforward and will welcome the amount of self help information available to them at www.ifa.net.”
Tomas Carruthers, Chief Executive of Interactive Investor, commented: “Interactive Investor has built its service and reputation over the years by introducing a range of partnerships in key strategic product areas and then employing its customer charter of transparency, fairness and simplicity. These values have seen us develop market leading share dealing and derivatives trading services. I believe the same opportunity now exists for financial advice. The Retail Distribution Review is going to change the landscape forever and our values are ideally suited to delivering a modern service that will fit the requirements of the discerning financial consumer.”
Interactive Financial Adviser launches officially on 1 September 2010.
